Various options: half-day trips to Capo Caccia, full-day trips including lunch and swimming stops, sunset aperitivo cruises. The coastline is best seen from the water.
Easy hike (about 2 hours) to a WWII bunker with spectacular views over the bay. Inside Porto Conte natural park. End with a drink at the rifugio.

Alghero's centro storico is Catalan in origin — you'll hear it in the language, see it in the architecture. Wander the narrow streets, walk the sea walls at sunset, visit the cathedral.
Alghero is known as the Coral Riviera. This small museum explains the history of coral fishing and craftsmanship. Interesting even if you're not buying jewelry.
